The Role

An exciting opportunity now exists for a driven and self-sufficient Injury Management Advisor to contribute to the Programmed Group Workers Compensation team.  Reporting to the Group Regional Workers Compensation Manager - Victoria, the Injury Management Advisor is required to show true care and empathy for each injured worker while achieving great claim outcomes for all parties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work as part of a team to ensure effective delivery of injury management and claims administration services to the various business units under a shared services model.
  • Provide injured employees with information that explains the WorkCover system, scheme compensation benefits, Agent claim determination process and Programmed's policies and procedures for supporting injured employees.
  • Proactive consultation and communication with injured employees, supervisors, treating doctors, allied health professionals, rehabilitation consultants, Agent case managers, etc.
  • Ensure claimant and stakeholder concerns, if any, are resolved in an efficient and timely manner
  • Work with Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) and operational teams to identify opportunities for improvement in the prevention of injuries and ongoing management of injured employees
Skills and Experience
  • A minimum of 4 years’ experience in worker’s compensation claims management, preferably in a large employer environment
  • An understanding of medical terminology is highly desirable
  • Competent in the use of an online claims management system
  • Effective communicator with outstanding interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Competent in the use of MS word and MS excel
  • Tertiary studies in Allied Health (Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Rehabilitation, Nursing, Psychology, or Exercise Science) is advantageous
