Position Title: Guest Services Agent - Casual
Location: H105 Mitchell Apartment Hotel
Responsible To: Front Office Manager / Hotel General Manager – 105 Mitchell Apmt Hotel
Main Purpose Of The Role
To deliver friendly, efficient customer service and to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere for all of our guests, with the key aim of retaining and attracting new customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out instructions given by the management team and head office
- Provide quality service to the customer by responding to their requests promptly, efficiently and courteously during check-in, checkout and throughout their stay.
- Ensure accuracy of reservations in respect of statistical data, deposit information, billing/credit details, VIP/Guest special requests, room rates and guest information.
- Ensure all paper work & supporting documentation for all reservations is co-ordinated.
- Report all issues and guest complaints to the Supervisor or Manager.
- Responsible for cashier float during shift ensuring float is counted and all monies accounted for with any discrepancies reported immediately to the supervisor.
- Maintain control of guest and hotel accounts ensuring that all charges are accurate and posted on a timely basis.
- Use every opportunity to promote hotel facilities and maximise sales through sound product knowledge and selling skills.
- Keep up to date with accurate, helpful information that will benefit Hotel Guests in respect of hotel and local facilities and attractions. Assist guests with tour bookings & directions as needed.
· Ensure all maintenance issues are logged and passed on to maintenance and relevant parties (management, maintenance, housekeeping and guests are notified).
· Liaise with the housekeeping team to ensure that all rooms are ready or guests with a Pre-arrival Check being completed.
- Always adhere to all company policies and procedures and licensing laws
- Carry out any duties as instructed by Front Office Manager / GM of the hotel
Safety Duties
- Use safe manual handling techniques, practice safe work habits, wear protective clothing provided where necessary and take a consultative roles in assisting and maintaining a clean, tidy work area and a healthy and safe working environment
- Maintain procedures to minimise our impact on the environment and prevent pollution
- Report any health or safety hazards, faults, repairs, cleaning needs and accidents to your Supervisor or Manager and record on the appropriate Accident Report form immediately following accident.
- Ensure all equipment is kept in good working order and used only for the purpose for which it was intended. Report all broken or damaged departmental equipment to your Manager and record on appropriate maintenance form.
- Contribute to cost control through energy conservation, correct storage of all materials in use of equipment per operating standards and manufacturers specifications
- Be fully conversant with departmental fire and evacuation procedures
Required
- Proof of right to work in Australia and an Australian bank account in your own name
- Be able to converse in English
- One year’s experience in Hotel industry in a similar position
- Certificate IV or V in Hospitality, Hotel Management or Tourism
- Be able to work different shift hours

Salary: $21.22 – $36.16 per hour
