The Wellbeing Workforce initiative has been established to support Queensland state schools and their students. The additional wellbeing professionals provided through this initiative will ensure every Queensland state student has access to support for their wellbeing at school. As part of this initiative, we are seeking Guidance Officers (Wellbeing) for multiple positions across various locations of the Darling Downs South West Region. Both permanent part time and full time roles are available.

About the role:
The Guidance Officer (Wellbeing) role is a specialised guidance role, with a particular focus on prevention and early intervention for students with mental health concerns.
The role will deliver a range of services to the school community, with a key aspect being to provide wellbeing support and counselling to students. The Guidance Officer (Wellbeing) will support students with a range of personal and social issues, such as managing peer and family relationships and improving engagement with schooling.
With this specific focus on wellbeing support, the Guidance Officer (Wellbeing) will not undertake some common aspects of other Guidance Officer roles, such as conducting psychometric assessments and career planning.
