Your Title: Hardware Test Engineer - Agriculture
Job Location: Australia - Remote (NSW/VIC/QLD/WA)

What You Will Do
The Trimble Agriculture division is seeking to fill a full time Test Engineer position on our global engineering team. You will work closely with the development teams, across multiple time zones, in the testing and performance of our products, which include but are not limited to steering, GNSS, water management, implement control systems, web and mobile applications. Additional responsibilities will include:
Working side by side with the software development team on integration and testing of new feature development.
Generating bug reports, using Jira software, with detailed information and supporting diagnostics information. In some cases help diagnose root cause
In addition to standard regression test execution, carrying out exploratory testing of complex systems that are composed of real-time controls.
Working closely with product owners and engineers to define product testing requirements and specifications
Creating new Jira zephyr test case(s) (test plan) for new features or products
Modify existing Jira zephyr test case(s) to expand testing coverage/corner cases.
Being a testing lead for an assigned agile team. Perform testing tasks for that team or help coordinate with other test team members as needed.
Performing in field testing on vehicles providing feedback.
Liaising with Beta sites, installing hardware and testing externally on machines.
Advocating on the customers behalf on general usability and ease of use and providing feedback to engineering and marketing teams.
What Skills & Experience You Should Bring
A background in agriculture and knowing agricultural practices is preferable, ideally living within an Agricultural area with close contact to agricultural machinery.
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and a willingness to work with people on changing requirements to deliver a quality product to the customer. Fluency in English.
Problem-solving and time management skills with motivation and ability to work autonomously
Ability to use electronics equipment such as multimeter, oscilloscope, and function generators
Ability to analyze a complex system and use critical thinking skills to understand the risks of making certain changes and derive an appropriate test plan.
Ability to work in office environment and/or remotely and communicate with teams located across the globe.
Ideally you would have experience in one or more of the following:
Bachelor's degree in ME, CE, EE or other relevant engineering field - useful but not required
Some understanding of communications buses such as CAN Bus, Serial, and Ethernet
Some experience with Flow and Application Control testing (i.e. Field IQ, ISOBUS, Serial Rate)
Precision Agriculture experience including but not limited to installation and troubleshooting
Understanding of software testing
Familiarity with Atlassian tools such as Jira, BitBucket, Bamboo, Google suite (Sheets, Docs, Slides, etc).
Experience driving heavy machinery would be advantageous but not required
Some experience in an engineering test, product development or other relevant field.
About Your Location
This position can be done fully remotely from VIC/QLD/NSW/WA Australia. Our position requires some travel on average up to 25% of the time to beta sites. You should be willing & able to travel (Driver’s license is required).
