The Role
We are looking for a Head Chef to join our team at The Como Melbourne located in South Yarra.
This role will be reporting directly into the General Manager and will be responsible for management of the day-to-day operations of the Kitchen department. This would be an exciting role for an individual with strong leadership skills to run this department with a young and tight knit kitchen team. This role is very hands-on in the kitchen so a passion for food is a must.
Duties:
- Management and leadership of the hotel kitchen team.
- Management of the restaurant, room service, bar and conference food service operations on a day-to-day basis.
- Produce creative and innovative menu designs
- Ensure food standards, preparation, presentation monitored to meet Brand Standard guidelines
- Cost control of food and labour
- Dealing with supplier
- Ensure the highest possible standard of hygiene is practiced and maintained to meet Health & Safety regulations and HACCP food preparation guidelines.
- Cultivate a positive work environment where learning and personal development are benchmarks by which quality improvement is driven.
- Co-ordination of the stewarding team to meet the kitchen’s requirements.
To be successful in the role, you will need an eye for detail, experience in workplace food safety, strong leadership skills to oversee the kitchen, and run the pass during busy services. This is a great opportunity to be creative with your menus!
