We are seeking an experienced and creative Head Chef to join our team at our busy cafe located in the Northern Beaches (1 hour North of Sydney) serving freshly cooked breakfast and lunch. As the Head Chef, you will be responsible for creating delicious dishes that are visually appealing and nutritionally balanced, while also maintaining a clean and organized kitchen.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure that all food is prepared to the highest standard of quality and consistency.
- Manage and train kitchen staff, including hiring, scheduling, and performance evaluations.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, ensuring that all food safety and sanitation standards are met.
- Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed.
- Collaborate with the management team to develop new recipes and improve existing ones.
- Ensure that all dishes are served in a timely manner and meet customer expectations.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Head Chef, preferably in a cafe or restaurant setting.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage a team effectively.
- Excellent knowledge of kitchen equipment and cooking techniques.
- Creativity and a passion for developing new recipes.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with the management team.
