The role

We have a new and exciting opportunity to join QBE as the Head of Agency, Partnerships reporting to our General Manager, Partnerships. Working alongside your peers on the Commercial Leadership Team you will be responsible for leading our brand in the Agency Partner space. In this role you will directly manage QIA's underwriting agency facilities delivering effective and efficient customer service for all underwriting agency business, to achieve growth and an underwriting profit from all underwriting agency business.

How will I help?

A day in the role may look a bit like this….

Develop and implement product strategies to underpin product profitability and sustainable growth

Achieve growth and an underwriting profit from all underwriting agency business

Contribute to the refinement of processes and procedures to improve systems and procedures relating to the portfolio

Monitor and review internal reporting processes to ensure they meet executive management, corporate, regulatory and statutory requirements

Provide a framework to encourage and support portfolio analysis to develop effective and efficient underwriting practices

Develop strong working relationships with stakeholders including distribution, actuarial, legal and compliance, marketing and reinsurance

Deliver effective and efficient provision of customer service for all underwriting agency business

Foster relationships with the major intermediaries, negotiate deals and represent the company with external parties

Take accountability for Profit & Loss statements

Lead a team of motivated and experienced colleagues

What do I need?

To be successful in this role you will have at least 10 years industry experience with, with at least 2 years in a Product Manager/Portfolio Manager or Leadership role. You will also have;

Solid leadership experience and engagement skills

Strong commercial acumen with experience in senior stakeholder management

Advanced planning, organisational and project management skills

Substantial experience in managing a general insurance business

Working knowledge of P&L, portfolio and other financial metrics

Advanced knowledge of risk management processes, performance management and analysis of systems and process
