In this role, you will lead curriculum focus in line with school and departmental initiatives, participate in delivering the vision of State Schools Division, improve the educational outcomes of students in the school and develop the quality of teaching and learning. About the School
We are a very proud school community located in the suburb of Daisy Hill in Queensland, Australia. As a small co-educational state school in Logan City, we have students from prep to year 6. We have a strong positive and caring school culture that is focused and committed to the learning of each student. We have partnerships with local businesses including the Daisy Hill Koala Centre whereby our school provides land to grow trees as food for the koalas. About the Role
As the Head of Department (Curriculum) you will have responsibility for the following:
- Lead the relevant curriculum areas or whole school program to develop, articulate and commit to a shared educational vision focussed on providing quality learning outcomes for all students.
- Embed socially just practices in daily school life.
- Set high standards for student and staff performance.
- Actively participate in lifelong learning and ongoing professional development.
- Form partnerships with students, parents, other government agencies, and community groups.
- Be futures oriented and strategic.
- Understand the legislation and policies that impact on schooling especially in relation to students and staff within the school department.
- Manage the human, financial, facilities and curriculum resources of the curriculum areas or whole school program to achieve goals.
