An exciting opportunity exists for a Head of Department (Curriculum) to join the North Coast Region EAL/D team. In this role, you will focus on building the capability of school and regional staff in knowing and understanding relevant legislation, policy and procedures to support inclusion of EAL/D students. A further focus will include applying effective learning and teaching practices that will enhance pedagogical practices, differentiation and tailored supports to ensure EAL/D students with diverse learning needs are successfully engaged in learning. Coaching / mentoring of school leaders in the instructional leadership will be an important part of your work to support improved outcomes for EAL/D students.

- Actively participate in lifelong learning and ongoing professional development.
- Form partnerships with students, parents, other government agencies, and community groups.
- Be futures oriented and strategic.
- Understand the legislation and policies that impact on schooling especially in relation to students and staff within the school department.
- Manage the human, financial, facilities and curriculum resources of the curriculum areas or whole school program to achieve goals.
