Position Summary
The Head of Education at the Australasian College of Health and Wellness (ACHW) is responsible for driving the academic and educational strategy of the institution. This pivotal role oversees the design, implementation, and evaluation of innovative educational programmes and curricula, ensuring they meet the highest standards of academic excellence and industry relevance. The Head of Education works closely with faculty, industry partners, and regulatory bodies to foster an engaging and dynamic learning environment that supports the professional development of students and aligns with the latest advancements in health and wellness.
Part-time role, min 3 days per week.
- Support the Director in implementing the academic and educational strategy of ACHW in alignment with the institution's vision and goals.
- Oversee the delivery of innovative and evidence-based educational programmes and continuous curriculum updates.
- Ensure compliance with higher education accreditation standards and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of Educational offerings through feedback and performance metrics.
- Develop and maintain quality assurance processes to ensure continuous improvement in educational delivery and outcomes.
- Conduct regular reviews and updates of curricula and teaching methodologies
- Mentor and lead a team of educators in fostering a collaborative and high-performing academic environment.
- Promote and support scholarship initiatives within the College. This includes running journal club meetings, facilitator symposia and overseeing the internal staff newsletters.
- Be a member of the academic board and other key academic committees, including chairing the teaching and learning committee.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and accreditation standards.
- Prepare and present regular reports on academic performance and strategic initiatives to relevant committees.
Qualifications & Training
- A doctoral degree (PhD or equivalent) in a relevant field such as Health, Wellness, Education, or a related discipline.
Experience
Required:
- Significant experience in academic leadership roles, including programme development, curriculum design, and faculty management.
- Proven track record of leading and managing educational programmes in the health and wellness sector or a related field.
Desirable:
Experience in quality assurance, accreditation processes, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Skills
- Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team of educators.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with faculty, industry partners, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders.

Scholarship and Professional Development
- A strong record of scholarly publications in reputable academic journals.
