Job Description

The is a senior Head of role within the Group Life Insurance team and will play a lead role in supporting the delivery of the Group Insurance Strategy along with the wider Group Life business.

This role is responsible for leading, responding to Industry themes and delivering Group Life Pricing excellence and quality assurance in line with TAL’s partner, commercial and operational plans.

It is critical that this role cultivate a strong relationship and partnership with the corresponding Head of Partnership and Head of Insurance Strategic Partners, Head of Insurance growth and New Business, and Head of Group Life Product to deliver the Industry Fund strategy and wider TAL strategy. This role will also work closely with respective Head’s of Account, Product, Pricing and Portfolio Management to help design, deliver and measure the strategic activity to deliver a Group Life Product excellence.

The role will also be responsible for delivering:
  • Collaborative input into TAL Group Life Insurance and partner strategy.
  • Providing Pricing leadership, quality assurance, peer review of Partner Pricing and reinsurance treaties.
  • Pricing and data analytics research and development
  • Creating trusted Group Life Pricing relationships with TAL’s Partners.
  • Key liaison with Finance to deliver governance planning and ensure consistency with TAL’s product Pricing Policy and Appointed Actuarial Framework
  • Ongoing research and terms of trade assumptions for TAL’s Group Life portfolio pricing to maintain a balance of completeness, value for members and shareholder value.
The role is responsible for leading and developing a high-performance team of product professionals.

Qualifications
  • Proven, senior-level, pricing, and business management skills in Life Insurance
  • Proven extensive experience in the Group life Market
  • Strong, mature strategic thinker
  • High level of relationship development skills
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills both written and verbal
  • Driven by great Client and TAL outcomes
  • Ability to develop knowledge of the Australian life insurance market – industry structure and trends, drivers and profitability, competitors
  • Demonstrable experience in delivering quality outcomes on multiple tasks and projects within budget and planned timeframes
  • Proven track record of delivery and managing others to successful delivery
