    The Head of Group Strategy will be responsible for developing, leading and presenting strategic projects which directly enable executive management to make the highest priority and most significant strategic decisions aligned to Group priorities.  The projects are unique in nature and have very high value, high impact outcomes. Strategy projects are generally initiated internally and/or at the direction of the Board, Group CEO or members of the Group Management Committee. They often involve complex, detailed analytical reviews of current business and industry performance followed by the development of recommendations for decision by the Group.

    The Head of Group Strategy will identify, assess and solve critical and challenging problems. They are responsible for identifying, developing and/or evaluating strategic project proposals and business cases, scoping and leading priority projects and working in partnership with Group business owners to advance strategic recommendations, and ensure appropriate decision-making realises value for the business and customers. In this role you will manage, develop and foster an innovative, high-performance culture across a team of strategy managers, associates and analysts, and ensure strength of talent pipeline for strategy capability - critical talent development for the Group.

    You’ll have –

  • 12+ years relevant, professional experience, including developing and leading strategic projects
  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline (MBA preferred)
  • Proven track record in people management, including managing managers and leading teams adeptly through change
  • Demonstrated ability to mobilise cross-functional teams to deliver pragmatic, impactful results
  • Highly experienced with maintaining and enhancing relationships with internal /external networks and stakeholders
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication and influencing skills, with leadership experience in management/strategy consulting, preferably with a top tier firm
  • Extensive understanding of business processes across commercial /operational functions and strategic evaluation techniques
  • Superior strategy development, financial analysis, communications and project management skills
  • Thorough understanding of strategic evaluation and financial evaluation techniques.
  • Proven ability to quickly identify issues, structure project plans and develop strategic options.
  • Experience in leading project teams and fostering staff developing.
  • Customer-focused approach with the ability to effectively question and challenge effectively while maintaining strong relationships.
  • Broad appreciation of wider strategic issues and drivers which shape the aviation industry.
