The role
The Head of IT will drive Saab Australia’s IT Strategy to meet the company’s business needs, delivering optimal return on investment, and maintaining the utmost security whilst working with both the Australian and Swedish business teams.
They will provide leadership, direction and senior support for all IT solutions and take active part in cross organisational decision forums for IT.
The Head of IT will also be responsible for building and maintaining a strong and supportive culture within the IT Team and developing relationships across Saab.
Further, the successful candidate will:
- Develop, drive and ensure execution of strategic and operational plans relating to information technology and systems across Saab
- Develop and implement resourcing and capability plans to ensure that the necessary competences and skills are available to sustain IT delivery
- Design, evolve and drive implementation and adoption of enterprise-wide technology and support all business streams of Saab Australia
- Ensure Enterprise Architecture is defined, functioning and integrated with Saab’s overall global Enterprise Architecture function
- Continuously improve and effectively communicate Saab’s IT Strategy, Policies and Standards across the organisation
- Ensure that the IT Operations are aligned with strategic objectives and drive improvements across the organisation
- Collaborate with members of IT Council to identify and correctly prioritise IT projects
About you
Your skills and experience will include:
- At least 10 years of experience in administration of information systems and technology, with increasing level of responsibility throughout, with 7+ years in a senior IT leadership role
- Ability to define a vision, set a strategy and lead an organisation from vision to implementation
- Collaborative leader who can influence others to achieve common goals by engaging and developing robust and productive relationships with stakeholders and senior leaders
- Proven and successful track record of leading, building and fostering high perform IT teams
- A skilled communicator with exceptional interpersonal, relationship building, advocacy and negotiation skills applied across a broad spectrum of stakeholders
- Superior analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Demonstrated ability to ensure coordinated IT demand and well-structured IT requirements elicitation
As Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain an NV1 clearance.
