We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and highly skilled Head of Learning – Languages (POL3) to join Penola Catholic College to lead the Languages department in an innovative and contemporary environment from Term 3 2024 to the end of 2026.
As the Head of Learning - Languages you will have an important role in assisting a number of classroom / subject teachers to further develop and enhance the quality of Learning and teaching in their classrooms. You will have a facilitating role in fostering a high standard of reporting in both formal and informal ways.
We currently offer Italian, French and Japanese.
Please note an ongoing teaching appointment is attached to the position.
As an innovative Head of Learning - Languages you will strive to create a learning environment that enables all students to flourish. You will also deliver a collaborative and consistent approach to supporting the diverse needs of our students
About You
To be successful you will be able to demonstrate and model contemporary teaching practice: understanding how students ‘learn best’. You will have a passion for Languages and must be able to teach Italian, French or Japanese. You will also have a demonstrated knowledge of the Australian curriculum frameworks and have a demonstrated capacity to provide leadership that is characterised by a desire for continuous improvement, lateral thinking and innovation, holding team members to account where necessary. You will be registered with VIT.
You will also have a demonstrated commitment to Catholic education and to the safety and wellbeing of children.

About Penola Catholic College
Penola Catholic College is a co-educational college for students from years 7-12 with two campuses in the Northern suburbs of Melbourne. College campuses are situated in Glenroy, which caters for years 7 and 8, and the senior campus in Broadmeadows that features years 9 to 12 and a total college enrolment of approximately 1,500 students.
