The role involves overseeing all aspects of marketing and requires a t-shaped marketer with expertise in copywriting and an eye for branding/design.


Here’s what is required

  • Execution: Copywriting (scripts, emails, social media, landing pages)
  • Execution: JV partner marketing
  • Execution: Social media content, posting and strategy
  • Execution: Product launch strategies and execution
  • Execution: Quality control on all assets under the APB brand
  • Management: Budget management ($2.4 million advertising budget)
  • Management: Overseeing paid advertising strategies and contractors
  • Management: Content calendar creation and execution
  • Management: Running daily huddles
  • Management: Managing training calendars for your team
  • Leadership: Controlling brand voice and reporting to leadership
  • Leadership: Seeking new advertising opportunities
  • Leadership: Interviewing and hiring new team members
  • Leadership: Onboarding and training new team members

Think of it as a hands-on marketing role where you can set the plan and lead your team to follow. It’s a combination of doing and leading.


To be successful in this role you must

  • Have 2+ years experience in leadership roles
  • Have 5+ years of hands-on marketing experience
  • Have experience and a love/hate relationship with tools like ClickUp
  • Have impeccable taste and love nothing more than excellent design
  • Be obsessed with details, no matter how big or small (Some might say you’re a little ‘too’ obsessive, or maybe a bit of a control freak, but you just prefer to be called accurate)
  • Triple check output at a minimum (You feel like only double checking is how silly mistakes get through)
  • Settle for nothing less than perfection
  • Drive to be the best version of yourself and inspire a team daily
  • Have an open mind
  • Have a home office set up and able to work without distraction
  • Have a fast and secure internet connection

Here’s what we expect from you

  • Elevation of the APB brand on every asset. We are proud of how far we have come, but it’s all about never-ending improvement. Strive for constant improvement on every funnel you come across.
  • Total ownership and responsibility for marketing assets, team members, contractors and budgets.
  • Providing coaching and ongoing support to your marketing team, making everyone feel valued, supported and motivated. Teach them new things every week and develop the future leaders.
  • Never-ending learning and improvement. Constantly consuming books, podcasts and training in order to sharpen your saw and the saws of others.

A little about APB

The Association of Professional Builders is a business coaching company for custom home builders. We provide on-demand training and systems via our membership and have a private mentoring level where we work one on one with builders worldwide.


The work we do matters and every day we are changing lives. Our members are thriving (despite what you might have heard about the industry lately) which has allowed us to expand our operations even further.


We have a small team of 17 people (two of which are marketing assistants) across three countries and we’re growing safely and securely every day. We’re proud to have recently earned our certification from Great Place To Work Australia after an independent review of our team.


Why is this position available? Currently, our Co-founder leads the marketing team and while she’s loved every minute of it, looking ahead to the 2023 calendar that’s full of live events to host, she doesn’t have the time to support, nurture and grow the team the way she wants to and therefore we’re looking for a new leader to come in and pick up where she left off and focus on sustainable growth.
