Reporting to the Managing Director, the Head of Sales will lead the existing sales team, and pioneer the next stage of growth for the business across both retail, foodservice and third-party manufacturing.
The Role
As part of the Leadership group, the Head of Sales will develop and execute the sales strategy in conjunction with the category channel strategy and lead the local sales team while taking ownership of set financial objectives.
The Head of Sales will continue developing and strengthening relationships with the major retailers and clearly understand the complex, competitive nature while identifying new opportunities with retailers and in the Foodservice channel. There will be a strategic shift to larger organisations across QSR. The Head of Sales will develop and manage all promotional, volume, and strategic business plans, leveraging relationships and ensuring sales results and profitability growth. Working hand in hand with the Head of Growth & Innovation, they will help drive a 'category-centric' approach. This will require collaboration with internal and external stakeholders and a high level of initiative. As they liaise with the business through regular communication, they will remain proactive in sharing their learnings, influencing key stakeholders, and developing the existing sales team's knowledge.
Skills & Experience
The Head of Sales will have experience in sales leadership from within the FMCG arena and be naturally entrepreneurial with strong current relationships across retail and foodservice channels. The ideal candidate will be underpinned by advanced stakeholder influencing, resilience, and the ability to be highly self-motivated and opportunistic. A natural leader, the perfect candidate, will be driven by overall company growth, have experience leading teams, and ideally, work within the small-medium and medium-sized FMCG organisations where growth has been a part of the agenda.
Critical to this position, the Head of Sales must demonstrate a deep understanding of the current retailer pressures, have strong analytical skills, be creative, and have presented examples of the ability to strongly negotiate with buyers to create a win-win outcome for both businesses. The successful candidate will demonstrate a high degree of initiative, be commercially savvy, have a strong customer focus, and be able to lead, inspire and identify growth opportunities for team members. This person will be genuinely excited about working with a growing business with an excellent reputation.
