The UniSQ School of Health and Medical Sciences continues to forge ahead establishing a contemporary program portfolio with a number of exciting developments including expansion of our allied health suite of programs. The School partners with other health stakeholders in our region to improve the health of our outer urban, regional and rural communities through research and workforce development.
Reporting to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic Affairs), and as a member of the Academic Affairs Leadership Group, the Head of School and Dean will drive the quality and performance of learning and teaching across programs, whilst working collaboratively to strengthen the School’s research in its key priority areas. The Head of School is also responsible for active engagement and participation with stakeholders, research partners, schools and the community to raise the profile of the School.
We are searching for a collegiate leader with the ability to build and nurture a team of high performing researchers and teachers. With superlative communication and influencing skills, the Head of School will foster relationships with diverse stakeholder groups, including health stakeholders, schools and the community. With a strong track record in academic leadership, the Head of School will demonstrate scholarly success in a relevant discipline and capacity to provide leadership to our biomedical science and allied health programs. Outstanding strategic and leadership skills will be essential, with the ability to develop and communicate a vision, building and uniting interdisciplinary teams, managing resources and promoting the profile of the School and the University more broadly, particularly at its intersection with regional Australia. A PhD in a relevant discipline is essential.
