After the successful sale of the sector leading company they founded, with an abundance of capital and freed from the constraints of a large business, together they set their attention on delivering the much-needed application of new technology (web, cloud, mobile) to their industry.
Together they designed, coded and released their built-for-user SaaS platform MVP, which after five years is now used by 50% of their industry, accounting for more than AUD$20b in transactions per year. Their team has grown to 80, with a Scrum based software engineering group of 30.
Their market leading and unrivalled B2B platform, puts them in a unique position to become the industries foundation platform for all data, services and technology, in seamlessly connecting all parties in a four million user ecosystem for the first time ever.
As part of the SLT, you will be working with the Owners who have a clear strategy and aggressive growth plans, including existing partnerships with other industry leading brands. They are looking to hire a Head of Engineering from an Agile software product background with strong communication, attention to detail and planning skills to own all aspects of software delivery, quality and direction.
Role Competencies:
- Own and translate company strategy into technology vision, roadmaps and execution in a high-quality Agile environment using .Net, AWS, React & Flutter.
- As a member of the SLT, be able to work effectively with the Head of Customer & Head of Product to ensure strong cohesion between customer, product and engineering groups
- Lead and develop the engineering group (currently 30), including mentoring a talented team of experienced technical leaders.
- Own communication and reporting to the founders on the engineering groups progress
- Bring equal amounts of commercial and delivery drive, with ability to maintain and enhance tech team mojo
- Maintain the current high quality engineering standards, whilst accelerating product delivery
- Bring elite ability to hire top technical talent
- Oversee continuous improvement of modern software techniques like Microservices and CI/CD, whist identifying and leveraging emerging technology and practices
- Experience with B2C and B2B products would be ideal
