About the role
As Head of Technology, Group Procurement, you help shape the future of end-to-end category management, enable the ANZ businesses to unlock value from their most critical supplier partnerships and lead a team of category managers to focus on strategic priorities. You will work alongside senior stakeholders in our Technology division to bring data-driven insights, commercial thought leadership and adaptive solutions to some of their most pressing and complex challenges.
This role sits within the global category management leadership team. You will be responsible for overseeing delivery across strategic sourcing, commercial contract management and supplier relationship management practice groups, whilst implementing leading practice processes. You will have the opportunity to work collaboratively across different business groups to understand the forces that are driving disruption within our industry, creating value through new sourcing opportunities and helping our business leverage external capability through our technology supplier ecosystem.
What will your day look like
- Helping Technology determine the optimal business or commercial strategies or options to help deliver their objectives
- Capability building: helping your extended global team come together effectively, develop their ability to bring well thought out commercial approaches and leverage our operating model
- Act as a procurement sponsor and coach category managers on major deals and relationships, driving alignment around agreed objectives and ensure strong strategy to execution
- Stay abreast of regulatory, industry and supplier trends regarding the Tech portfolios and build relationships externally and internally to understand leading practice, innovations and market disruptions
- Lead the procurement planning cycle with technology and help drive the productivity and cost benefits agenda on behalf of procurement, bringing informed market insights to improve decision-making
- Establish and role model strong management and process disciplines to govern key controls across the sourcing and contracting lifecycles, promoting hygiene and ensuring that resources are allocated to the right activities
- Build trusted relationships with key Business and Functional stakeholders, and broker relationships for other teams who have like stakeholders across the business – be seen as a trusted advisor
- Support the Supplier Relationship Management COE drive capability improvement across key supplier accounts and internal stakeholders
- Lead behavioural and cultural change through a supportive, collaborative and highly inclusive environment where team members feel supported, respected and engaged
What will you bring?
To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:
- Significant professional experience in strategic consulting, planning or procurement role with plenty of exposure to technology
- Problem Solve within highly complex and ambiguous situations
- Exceptional team building and communication skills
- Proven track record of influencing stakeholders and relationship building at senior levels in large organisations
- Strong commercial acumen with ability to analyse cost vs risk trade-offs, shape deal economics
- Resilience and temperament to stay calm and thrive under pressure while staying focused on outcomes
- Experience managing global, diverse teams
