We are seeking a talented and highly motivated Health and Safety Advisor that will be responsible for providing system and reporting support, operational Health and Safety advice, and audit services across Squadron Energy (SQE) development, construction and operational sites. The role will work collaboratively with internal customers and external service providers to ensure the conformance with legal and contractual requirements and evaluates operational compliance with approved work Health and Safety (WHS) management systems.
Key responsibilities:
- Provide advice and support to Squadron Energy management, employees and contractors on the effective management of operational Health and Safety matters.
- Provide guidance and support to the business for implementation of WHS processes, procedures and work instructions.
- Undertake WHS system and performance auditing of construction and maintenance contract service providers in consultation with project managers, site representatives and the Health and Safety Manager.
- Support the Health and Safety Manager with investigations of WHS incidents as required.
- Monitor and report operational WHS performance to management, employees and contractors to create awareness and improve overall behaviours.
- Undertake industry specific research to maintain knowledge in WHS best practice.
- Work closely with the Health and Safety Manager to provide ongoing process and system improvements to ensure quality Health and Safety outcomes.
- Develop training materials and undertake training sessions to ensure the whole of Squadron Energy is aware of the WHS management system requirements.
- Lead by example by role modelling the Safety-First culture, demonstrating personal accountability for self-development and achieving quality and timely results.
- Build and maintain effective and collaborative relationships with key internal and external stakeholders at all levels to foster strong awareness and commitment towards WHS.
- Carry out the duties of the role in a professional and ethical manner and in accordance with Squadron Energy's values, Code of Conduct and any other relevant policies.
- Assist with the management of Psychosocial hazards across SQE.
- Assist in the management of health processes as required across SQE.
About you
You will have:
- Minimum of 5 + years’ demonstrated functional experience in similar field Health and Safety role.
- Tertiary qualifications in Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent.
- Registered Auditor - Safety Management Systems (Desirable).
- Incident Cause Analysis Method (ICAM) or equivalent investigation trained.
- Demonstrated experience in the application of relevant legislation governing WHS management of construction/high-risk activities
- Ability and experience in providing advice within construction, electricity, manufacturing or similar industries.
- A current Australian driver’s licence.
