Dental Health Services Victoria is the leading public oral health agency in Victoria. Our aim is to improve the oral health of all Victorians, particularly vulnerable groups and those most in need. We provide Victorians with quality oral health care through the Royal Dental Hospital of Melbourne and work collaboratively with other sectors to deliver oral health promotion programs to benefit all Victorians.

About the role:

We have two exciting opportunities for experienced Health Promotion Leads to join our team at Dental Health Services Victoria for a 6-month fixed term contract. Reporting to the Manager Health Promotion Programs this role is responsible for leading the planning, delivery and evaluation of the programs. The incumbent will either be responsible for one of the following programs:

  • The Healthy Families, Healthy Smiles program aims to improve the oral health of Victorian children aged 0-3 years and pregnant women by building capacity of health and early childhood professionals to embed oral health promotion in their everyday practice.
  • The Smiles 4 Miles program which aims to improve the oral health of preschool aged children. DHSV partners with a range of local organisations in target communities across Victoria to deliver the Smiles 4 Miles program

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing leadership and support to program staff and partners.
  • Developing and maintaining effective partnerships to support delivery of the program.
  • Building capacity of partners to expand the oral health promotion workforce in Victoria.

To be successful in this role you will need:

  • Qualification/s in health promotion, public health, health or social sciences or related discipline.
  • Experience in the development, implementation and evaluation of health promotion initiatives.
  • Strong experience in relationship building, collaborating and managing the expectations of key stakeholder groups.
  • Strong skills in leading change/process improvement.
