The Role
We now have an exciting opportunity available for a Health and Safety Advisor NSW & ACT to join our Operations team in Albury, Young or Canberra on a full time basis.
Reporting to the Team Lead Health and Safety Operations and Maintenance you will play a key role in supporting the safe execution of APA operational and project activities and the improvement in Health, Safety and Wellbeing (HSW) performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting the ongoing development of line leader H&S capability in the safe execution of work activities and the local execution of health and safety programs and initiatives.
- Support the development and ongoing improvement of HSW programs and initiatives.
- Support and coach line leaders to execute injury management activities including arrangement of medical treatment, injured worker liaison and monitoring, workers compensation claims lodgement, and development of return to work plans.
- Support line leaders to interpret H&S data and identify trends and improvement opportunities.
- Actively participate in local leadership meetings and the communication of H&S regulatory changes and impacts.
About You
- Tertiary qualification and/or relevant work experience in related discipline
- Strong experience executing and supporting health, safety and wellbeing processes and initiatives for mid-large size organisations
- Proven experience in supporting and coaching line leaders in improving health and safety performance
- Stakeholder management skills including customer focus, influencing, building trust and accountability
- Demonstrable experience in continuous improvement through the implementation of change across business processes, systems and people
