The Role
The HSE Manager is responsible for leading the ABN Group’s WA Safety Program “Work Safe Home Safe”. You will manage the development, implementation, compliance and ongoing maintenance of the Group’s safety systems.
Other key responsibilities include:
Provide proactive safety leadership and be the change agent at ABN Group to drive and maintain a true safety culture
Develop and implement WA’s residential safety strategy, action plans, systems and standards
Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders including Building Managers, Construction Managers, Site Managers, ensuring they are skilled to execute a positive safety culture
Supervise, coach and mentor the ABN Group Safety team
Manage external safety audits, and review and communicate Group safety audit results, objectives and targets
Ensure business compliance with all WHS regulations
Coordinate and verify reporting for safety performance across the group
Maintain positive relationships and regular communication with external stakeholders including HIA, MBA and WorkSafe
You
You will have demonstrated experience within Health and Safety with extensive knowledge of current and relevant legislation. You will also possess:
Minimum Cert IV in Safety (tertiary qualifications in HSE will be highly regarded)
Considerable experience in Senior Safety role
Ability to identify key safety drivers and implement practical strategic initiatives
Proven ability to establish and drive a positive safety culture
Strong understanding of construction processes
Highly developed communication, presentation and training skills
Ability to develop and maintain professional relationship with internal and external stakeholders
Strong, positive leadership, focused on maintaining a high-performance team culture
Excellent time management and organisational skills
