HEO7 $95,017 to $106,270 per annum plus employer contribution of 17% superannuation applies.
Up to two, full time continuing positions available - immediate start.
The University of Adelaide is a large and successful university in Australia's Group of Eight research intensive universities distinguished by its international reputation and commitment to innovation and excellence in research and teaching.
The HR Branch is contained within the Division of University Operations and serves a client base of approximately 8,000 staff across all university locations. The HSW portfolio sits within the University's Health, Safety and Wellbeing (HSW) management framework within HR and provides core services such as managing the University's self-insurance license, safety and injury management, building and maintaining a safety culture and workplace that is compliant with the Return to Work SA code of conduct.
This is a fantastic and rewarding role in a friendly and supportive team, where you will lead, coordinate and provide HSW advice and services to assist faculty and divisional management in ensuring the ongoing safety of staff, students and visitors, and to understand their responsibilities with respect to relevant legislation.
To be successful you will need:

  • Demonstrated experience in Health, Safety and Welfare coordination and providing advice
  • Proven experience planning and implementing HSW activities
  • Experience coordinating and undertaking safety reviews, audits, making recommendations and authoring written reports
  • Experience reviewing and developing HSW business processes, systems and procedures, and proactively seek out opportunities and areas for improvement
  • Demonstrated experience leading and supporting the creation of clear and accurate HSW reports for management and executives
  • Proven experience providing high level advice, input and training to management on HSW matters
  • Ability to develop and foster regular communication with the Heads of School as well as external partners
