With their rapidly expanding network, they are currently seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Heavy Vehicle Mechanic Apprentice to join their team based across Cairns.
Your new role
Your new role will be diverse and rewarding assisting in the development and maintenance of a sustainable fleet project across Australia. Based in Cairns, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair services on all commercial fleet to ensure all vehicles are maintained in a safe, reliable and roadworthy condition at all times. Working a minimum of 38 hours per week with a rotating weekend roster and overtime opportunities available.
What you'll need to succeed
You are a mechanically minded individual with background working as a Mechanical TA/Labourer and looking to up skill. You are self-sufficient, reactive, adaptable and have good computer skills. You work well under pressure and excel in team environments.
The following skills, licences and qualifications will lead to your success in this role:
Exposure working in heavy industry or as a Mechanical Trade Assistant – 2nd, 3rd or 4th year apprentices in LV or HV will be highly considered
Demonstrated experience working with Mechanical Trades on heavy vehicles, bus and trucks (preferable)
Great communication skills and able to listen to follow instructions
Driver’s Licence
MR or HR Licence (desirable)
Forklift Licence (desirable)
Available to work weekends and nights as negotiated (if required)
