The Opportunity:
We are seeking experienced Herd Technicians to join our team at AFMH. This is a full-time, hands on role as part of an enthusiastic team that are passionate about the wellbeing and care of our cows. You will be involved with all aspects of maternity, herd health, hoof trimming and reproduction programs that contribute to the overall health of our cows.

Key accountabilities include:
- Participate in all aspects of herd health. This will include monitoring transition, fresh and milking cows and diagnosis of common health conditions
- Assist with all aspects of maternity, herd health, hoof care, reproduction and dairy nutrition programs.
- Assist with all aspects of herd reproduction, including AI, heat detection and synchronisation programs
- Assist with all aspects of dairy nutrition including feed delivery as per feeding schedules, silage pit covering, recording feed data and operation and maintenance of machinery.
- Assist with rearing calves, calf vaccinations & treatments, and other herd management tasks.
- Maintaining accurate records relating to herd health
- Periodic relief in the milking parlour
The successful applicant will possess:
- A Bachelor of Science or similar
- Previous experience in herd health, reproduction and heifer raising essential
- Knowledge in herd management including experience from reputable and world leading large scale dairy farm/s
- Experience with herd software programs including Dairy Comp 305 or electronic monitoring systems such as CowManager

- Expected salary: $80,000 - $100,000 per year
