Work Location: Iron Bridge - Fortescue’s Iron Bridge project is located on the traditional lands of the Nyamal people.
Roster: 8/6 Day Only – FIFO ex Perth
At Fortescue, we are in the process of transforming our energy assets to achieve our climate change targets of zero emissions by 2030. The Energy Operations assets are expanding which provides many opportunities to learn, grow and do more than you thought was possible with construction of a large-scale battery energy storage system completed and a solar farm facility being constructed in the area.
You will be a key member of the Energy Operations HV Transmission team in providing power to Iron Bridge mine via a 220kV transmission line which will also extend to port operations at Port Hedland in future.
Key Responsibilities
Responsible for the safe, reliable, and efficient operational performance and maintenance of the transmission, distribution and generation assets.
Consistently maintain high standards in all facets of network operations and maintenance.
Work with the Transmission Supervisors to ensure all maintenance activities are executed in accordance with maintenance strategies.
Commitment to high quality safety and continuous improvement practices.
Use of SAP to ensure that maintenance tasks are recorded, assigned correctly and completed to the relevant standard / specification.
Qualifications and Experience
Relevant Australian recognised Trade Certification - Electrical Workers License
High Voltage Switching certificate and relevant network switching experience
Experience with all aspects of HV power distribution and transmission systems. Experience in large scale transmission networks and operation of Siemens GIS switchgear would be an advantage.
Experience in computer-based maintenance systems - SAP
EWP and working at heights trained – desirable
Flexibility in operation and ability to work in a team and as a motivated contributor
Self-motivated individual with written and verbal communication skills
