ABOUT THE ROLE:
Are you passionate about plants, gardens, and making your community bloom? Look no further! Join our team at Bass Coast Shire Council as a Horticulture Apprentice to develop your green thumb, learn about sustainable practices, and create beautiful, healthy landscapes in your local community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the maintenance and development of parks, gardens, and public green spaces.
- Learn and apply horticultural techniques under the guidance of experienced professionals.
- Participate in planting, pruning, weeding, and landscaping projects.
- Support the upkeep of tools, equipment, and facilities used in horticultural activities.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure the highest standards of horticultural care.
This apprenticeship offers hands-on training and valuable experience in arboriculture under the guidance of experienced professionals. You will gain rewarding experience working outdoors, contributing to the environment and the community. You will undertake formal training modules with a registered training provider and gain a Diploma in Horticulture on completion of the 3 years.
ABOUT YOU:
- Genuine interest in horticulture and environmental stewardship.
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn, including completing all modules and practical work in accordance with the requirements of the apprenticeship.
- Willingness to learn and work in various weather conditions.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Physical fitness and ability to perform manual tasks.
