Barmetrix is a hospitality services and coaching business. Since 1999 we have coached over 5,000 bar/restaurant operations teams in the US, Canada, UK and Australia. Barmetrix provides expertise in solving some of the most common issues in hospitality businesses worldwide today. Our office in Sydney is growing and we're looking for a new team member who is passionate about our mission, looking for an opportunity to grow & learn new skills, all while helping others become more successful.
What We Actually Do
While our company offers a range of services, our Gold Coast office has a laser focus on providing inventory control by performing periodic beverage stocktakes. Our account management teams currently work and share best practices with 90+ of the best high volume bars, restaurants, nightclubs and hotels, on the Gold Coast.
Three skill sets are needed to be a great Account Manager:
1.Technical Skills - We use proprietary database software to help our clients. This consulting software is robust and takes 8 to 12 weeks to learn and years to master. You will learn how to use this software along with best practices from the hospitality industry.
2.Interpersonal Skills - You will regularly interact with different personalities including owners, managers, and staff. To do this effectively requires self-awareness, listening, supportiveness, assertiveness, and a high emotional intelligence. Some, but not all of this can be taught.
3.Consulting Skills -The ability to influence positive results for your clients without having the direct authority to make changes or implement programs. A big part of our culture is learning. The willingness to read, ask questions, and learn will enable these life skills and are essential to your success here.
We'd love to meet you if you are:
1. Physically able to count and move inventory, accurately and quickly.
2. Have your own transportation and a current drivers license
3. An early riser. Some of our jobs start at 6am
3. Polite & professional verbal & written communication skills.
4. Sense of urgency - This is a fast paced job. You must be able to keep up
5. Detail oriented - Accuracy is paramount to everything.
6. Above and Beyond - You're not afraid to go the extra mile when it counts.
The perfect candidates possess the following traits.
1. Desire to become an expert and do something great.
2. Loves data and has a strong grasp of math and excel.
3. Innate business sense.
4. Previous experience in the hospitality industry
