Bussiness Development Manager

Iconic Melbourne Hotel - Newly refurbished!

The Company

Undergoing a complete transformation (Opening in 2023), this iconic Melbourne Hotel is seeking a Business Development Manager to grow its business pipeline. With a complete refurbishment of the property, comprising of 370 rooms and suites, dining experiences, event ready rooftop bar, state of the art virtual fitness centre and rooftop pool.

This is an opportunity to help launch and shape business development and drive new business demand for the re-imagined site.

Role & Responsibilities

Business development and account management for corporate, conferencing and events with the ability to offer comprehensive residential conference solution to market
Analyse and manage CRM work flow
Evaluate previous client leads and prospects and engage and requalify
Pro-actively source new accounts for the hotel and conferencing and events
Attack the market, get out and meet prospects and existing clients to confirm business, developing a solid pipeline of business pre-opening and beyond
Attend weekly business meetings with a good understanding of your own pipeline and metrics
Develop the brands reputation as the market leader in accommodation, service, conferencing and events
Reporting to the Director of Sales & Marketing and Director of Conferencing & Events you will work closely with them to drive business development program and ensure budget targets are achieved

What you bring to the role

Previous business development experience is essential
An understanding of hotel, conference and event operations is an advantage
A skilled sales professional who enjoys face to face interaction with prospects and clients
Experience across hotel sales to SME and large market enterprises
Self-motivated with effective time management and organisational skills
Ability to communicate effectively with high level written and verbal communication skills
Market knowledge and research capability
Industrious and innovative approach to client solutions in line with internal processes and parameters
