The Landmark Resort in Nelson Bay is looking for an experienced Handy person to join the motivated and hard working maintenance team on a casual base.
Working in a small team, you will be required to maintain the building, equipment and fixtures and fittings throughout the hotel to a high standard.
The successful applicant will be customer service focused, have previous experience in a similar role or maintenance experience, be highly motivated and able to work unsupervised and in a team environment.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Cleaning and maintaining the Common areas of the Hotel to a high standard.
- Carry out general repairs to the building and hotel rooms, such as patching and painting, plumbing, carpentry and preventative maintenance throughout the Hotel.
- When required assist guests with any maintenance issues in their room, while being friendly and customer service focused at all times.
- Contact Trade persons when required and follow through to the completion of the task.
- Assist other team members when needed, to ensure that the hotel operates to it's full potential.
Skills and Experience:
- Previous experience in a similar role or the ability to demonstrate skills required to be successful in this role.
- Having a skilled Trade background, preferably in construction or the building Industry would be an advantage but not essential.
- Excellent customer service skills and must be team orientated to succeed in this role.
- Being a busy Hotel, it can be a physically demanding role, so organisational and time management skills will be needed.
- Able to work a minimum of one day a week, with the ability to work more shifts during peak season, including weekends and public holidays when required.
- Must have initiative and attention for detail, rectify any issues without direction.
- Maintain Safe Work Practices and WH&S at all times.
