The Black Horse Hotel Motel, is looking to hire a Hotel Motel Manager who will be responsible for overseeing the operations of the entire premises consisting of 200 seating Restaurant, 100 seating Sports Bar, 50 seating Terrace Beer Garden, Motel and Bottleshop. It’s a busy environment and the right candidate needs to ensure that guests receive excellent service and an enjoyable stay. He/she will manage all aspects of the hotel, including guest services, housekeeping, maintenance, sales, and marketing.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Take full responsibility for the results achieved in the Venue, including sales performance and stock audits
Ensure full compliance with hotel operating controls, SOP’s, policies, procedures, and service/brand standards.
Hire, train, and manage staff, including team building, briefings, and monitoring performance.
Forecast sales and wages weekly/quarterly.
Plan all rotas in line with budgeted targets and forecasts, taking the necessary daily action to reduce/increase hours, in line with sales
Working with Head Chef to plan menu and prepare menu costing, this involves understanding of market analysis and guest feedback.
Undertaking regular stock checks, placing orders with suppliers, and restocking alongside other management
Organizing and advertising events such as live music, in-house promotions which may involve researching and recruiting talent when required along with other event management.
Develop and implement policies and procedures to maintain high standards of service and efficiency.
Ensure hotel online reputation, ranking and ratings are maintained on set targets and action to be taken to drive the outstanding results based on hotel/brand standards.
Manage on-going profitability of the hotel, ensuring revenue and guest satisfaction targets are met and exceeded.
Develop and implement marketing strategies to attract new guests and retain existing ones.
Control all aspects of finance, including sales, profitability, stock control, and controllable expenditure
Be accountable for all cash management, conduct thorough investigations for all cash-loss issues
Ensure that monthly financial outlooks for Rooms, Food & Beverage, Admin & General, are on target and accurate.
Maximizing room yield and hotels revenue through innovative sales practices.
Responsible for stock and vendor management.
Prepare a monthly financial report for the owners and draw up plans and budget (revenues, costs, etc.) for the owners.
Helping in the procurement of operating supplies and equipment and contracting with third-party vendors for essential equipment and services.
Provide effective leadership to hotel team members and lead in all aspects of business planning.
Responsible for legalization, Occupational Health & Safety measures, fire regulations and other legal requirements.
\*Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the hospitality industry, with at least 2 years in a management position.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong leadership and management skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong financial management and budgeting skills.
- Knowledge of hotel industry standards.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant software applications.
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and extended hours as needed.
Physical Demands:
The Hotel Motel Manager may be required to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods. They may also be required to lift or move objects.
Work Environment: The Hotel Motel Manager may work in a variety of settings. They may be required to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment with long hours and strict deadlines.
