Primary objective
Be the first point of contact and provide quality information and advice to Northern Territory Police, Fire and Emergency
Services managers and employees on housing and relocation entitlements and to provide effective delivery of property
and tenancy management support.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Conduct property inspections, identify tenant liability and coordinate properties for occupation.
2. Ensure that all legislative time frames provided in the Residential Tenancy Act 1999 (NT) are adhered to.
3. Coordinate and arrange cleaning and gardening on vacant properties to ensure jobs are attended to in a timely
manner and completed to agency standards.
4. Develop and maintain strong, effective and professional relationships with a client focused approach to service
delivery.
5. Provide advice and information and coordinate the relocation process of new and existing employees on
commencement or transfer.
6. Source, inspect, secure and prepare new lease agreements. Negotiate lease renewals and lease reductions/increases
with Property Managers and/or Landlords in line with the rental market.
7. Support the Manager Housing with the co-ordination of squad commencement and graduating housing requirements
including identification of entitlement and proactive management of the portfolio to meet future needs.
8. Manage and update internal systems efficiently and effectively to ensure all data is correct and up to date.
9. When required, assist the HR Advice team with employee and member enquiries to support a responsive and
customer focused service to the agency.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Clear, concise and professional written and oral communication skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with
stakeholders and employees at all levels.
2. Ability to accurately enter data and identify discrepancies and update/correct records pro-actively.
3. Demonstrated ability to problem solve, think laterally, show initiative, be flexible and remain motivated in challenging
and busy working environments.
4. Demonstrated ability to utilise a wide range of computer software packages including but not limited to Microsoft
Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams and Access databases.
5. Demonstrated experience working in a busy client focused environment with multiple and changing priorities.
6. Ability to follow instructions and procedures.
Desirable
1. Demonstrated experience working in property and tenancy management.
2. Ability to understand and apply legislation.
