About the role:
We are currently seeking a HSE Advisor to join our team at Taylors Engineering & Welding Services. With a background in the mining industry, this candidate will provide support in the management of the HSE activities, provide continuous advice and support to managers, supervisors and employees to ensure that operations are conducted in accordance with the requirements of the HSE Management System. The successful candidate will integrate HSE into the organisational culture and contribute to the safe and successful execution of client projects.
Responsibilities of the role include:
- Provide technical and administrative direction regarding the implementation, communication and coordination of HSE aspects of various projects;
- Ensure that all HSE objectives are in line with organisational objectives;
- Preparation of various project specific documentation, including tender information, procedures, HSE Management Plans and reports as required;
- Assist in project pre-planning to ensure project procedures and specifications reflect WHS and environmental factors;
- Assist in the investigation of any project incidents and ensure the maintenance of proper records;
- Ensure accurate records, training certificates, inspection reports and other documents are readily available on request;
- Conduct site inspections and audits as required;
- Identify HSE related training needs;
- Monitor and improve safe working procedures and practices;
- Promote a safe work culture and ensure that all employees are accountable;
- Assist with continuous improvement and lessons learned feedback.
- Work with the Group HSE team to maintain and control the company HSE Management Systems;
- Support the development and implementation of new HSE programs and training initiatives.
Essential Skills, Qualifications & Experience:
- Formal qualifications in WHS; Certificate IV.
- Minimum 2-5 years’ experience in a similar position within the Mining industry;
- Strong understanding of workplace health and safety legislation in Western Australia as well as safety standards and processes;
- Prior experience in Incident Investigations;
- Effective written and oral communication skills including skills in negotiating, developing and managing cooperative working relationships;
- Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel;
- Current driver’s licence.
- Ability to work unsupervised;
- Ability to pass a pre-employment medical;
