You will be working for an industry leader in the transport and logistics industry, servicing contracts within the DC, Warehousing and Logistics sector.
About the Role
Reporting to the Senior HSE Manager be a leader striving to advance strategy through enabling a unified culture of safety, people, customer focus and operational excellence, the role is responsible for providing practical HSE advice and support to the team and delivering initiatives that continually improve the HSE culture and performance in line with the company strategy and values.
Some of your duties will include:
- Support and assist in the consultation and successful implementation of the HSEQ Global Management System, liaise with key stakeholders to action HSE matters ensuring continual improvement
- Develop, review and implement Site HSE Plans, in partnership with key business stakeholders ensuring alignment with Business Unit HSE Plan and assist the business in achieving all objectives and targets
- Communicate and promote the Company HSE strategic plan and assist site management in facilitating HSE consultation processes
- Review the quality of information submitted by the region into TRAC, including but not limited to safety conversations, hazard identifications, corrective actions, incidents and investigations
- Attend and develop materials/ provide data for HSE Meetings/ HSE Toolbox (Pre-start) Meetings
- Coordinate and deliver HSE training programs that enhance the understanding and effectiveness of the HSEQ Global Management System, risk management, safety leadership and hazard reduction
- Undertake HSE system and compliance audits, third party external audits, including self-insurance and certification audits
- Conduct regular site HSE inspections with business stakeholders to drive improvements on-site conditions
- Conduct incident investigations using appropriate methodologies to ensure the determination of root cause and timely corrective action; review all other incident investigations and assist business stakeholders as required
- Review and assist Victorian stakeholders with the development and maintenance of the Site/s HSE Risk Registers
- Undertake safety conversations as per KPI and record in TRAC
- Assist with the development/ review of risk assessments
- Support the HSE Bids and Tenders process providing information
- Review contractor HSE performance and pre-qualification process
5-7 years of practical experience in a HSE role with a focus on warehousing and Logistics
Strong relationship management of both internal and external stakeholders
Experience in third-party audits and corrective action planning
Knowledge of HSE legislation, ISO45001 & ISO14001
Excellent written and communication skills, and write high-quality reports
Experience in conducting incident investigations using ICAM or similar methodologies
Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with others including legislators, external auditors, accreditation bodies, industry experts
Competent computing skills, advanced Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Superior problem-solving capability
Ability to work flexible hours to support the business operational requirements
Qualifications – Education and/or professional
- Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety
- Certificate IV (or equivalent) in Environmental Management (desirable)
- Dangerous Goods qualifications/ training (desirable)
- Chartered/ Certified HSE professional (desirable)
- Internal Auditor qualifications - IRCA, Exemplar Global or equivalent (desirable)
