UGL Unipart Rail Services Pty Ltd (UGL Unipart) was founded in December 2011 as a Joint Venture between UGL (Australia) and Unipart Rail (UK). UGL Unipart operates a Rail Maintenance Facility at Auburn where it maintains rolling stock for Sydney Trains, Transport for New South Wales and other rail operators.
About the Role
UGL Unipart is looking for a HSE Officer / Junior Advisor to join the team on a permanent full-time basis based at our rolling stock maintenance facility in Auburn, Sydney.
Reporting to the Senior HSE Advisor, the role of the HSE Officer / Junior Advisor shall support UGL Unipart HSE Manager to facilitate effective implementation of WHS, Rail Safety, Workers Compensation & Injury Management, and Environmental (HSE) processes and systems to continually improve our safety and environmental performance, and meet legal requirements, and UGL minimum standards.
The role will provide advice and mentoring on WHS, rail safety, worker’s compensation, and environmental compliance matters, as well as assisting in identifying and implementing best practice solutions to prevent incidents. The role will be responsible for ensuring governance processes are implemented to assist management in ensuring the HSE legal and business requirements are being met, and injuries appropriately classified and managed.
About You
- Certificate IV, Diploma and/or tertiary qualifications in WHS or equivalent
- Cert IV qualifications in Training & Assessment – Ideal but not essential
- Experience working in an operational site-based role with exposure to partnering a blue-collar workforce and their leads
- Experience in auditing and investigations - Lead Auditor and ICAM qualifications are desirable
- Excellent knowledge of the WHS, Environment and Workers Compensation legislation
- Knowledge of AS 4801, ISO 9001/14001, ISO31000
- Understanding of Rail Safety National Law - Desired
- Excellent knowledge of the WHS, Environment and Workers Compensation legislation
- Experienced gained in the rail, automotive, military, Defence, avionics or any other safety critical environment.
