Our Mining client is seeking an experienced HSE Officer to join their team on a FIFO 5/2 4/3 roster from Perth. This role will be a 6-month assignment with the potential to be ongoing for the right candidate.
Start: ASAP
Roster: 5/2 4/3 or straight 4/3
Duration: 6 months with the potential to be ongoing for the right candidate
Pay Rate: $70 - $75 p/h depending on experience
THE ROLE:
We require an experienced site based HSE Officer to commence immediately.
This opportunity will see you working closely with company management and the projects team to maintain and develop Workplace Health and Safety policies & procedures.
Duties and responsibilities will include:
Comply with all workplace health and safety laws at all times.
Manage company and client-driven HSE activities, programs, drills, meetings.
Facilitate risk assessments and ensure site specific risk registers are updated and communicated.
Report any incidents, near hits, procedure deficiencies and poor working conditions.
Ensure all incidents (including near misses) are investigated to a level of detail appropriate to the maximum foreseeable exposure (MFE) of the incident and report made available to the HSE manager.
Ensure monthly HSE inspections are completed with relevant actions captured for any non-conformances identified.
Review and update company HSE manuals, policies, procedures and management plans as required.

To be successful, you'll need:
Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety (at minimum)
Field leadership promoting HSE
Strong investigation skills
Prior experience in a similar site based role
Current West Australian C Class driver's license.
Full Australian working rights
Excellent communication skills
