Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, The Human Resources Advisor undertakes a key role within peak industry body and has day-to-day responsibility for the administration and operation of all people-based activity as outlined in the organisation’s people and culture strategy.
The role requires the successful candidate to interact with the Executive team and CEO.
This hands-on role is responsible for providing high-quality, timely and professional human resources services to management and employees of the Council, employee selection, retention, onboarding, employee engagement, implementation of agreed strategies and policies, supporting payroll and other Council initiatives.
This varied and exciting role will require the successful candidate to have:
- 3-5 years’ experience within a similar Human Resource support role
- Relevant Human Resources qualifications
- High level written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a variety of people and negotiate outcomes effectively within all levels of an organisation
- Proven ability to provide advice, support and assistance to employees and management on a broad range of human resources issues, with an ongoing commitment to quality outcomes
- Demonstrated ability to prioritise and coordinate and to exercise confidentiality, tact and discretion.
- Ability to implement, monitor the organisation’s people and culture strategy
- Provide recruitment support, onboarding and existing processes (in accordance with employment contracts and award requirements)
- Procure Industrial relations guidance
- Provide day-to-day support to managers on HR issues, including management of staff, performance, remuneration etc.
- Monitor and manage WHS legislation requirements
- Develop relevant employee strategies and activities.
- Assist in the identification and development of success plans
- Support the training and development programs across the organisation
- Support established performance management system
- Support Finance process for payroll function and compliance with employment regulations, and legislative requirements
- Ensure the accurate processing of leave, including reviewing and setting up relevant controls
