Cornerstone Youth Services is seeking a highly motivated HR Advisor to join our team.
This is a part-time position (48 hours a fortnight) based from our Launceston site with regular intrastate travel required to our Devonport and Burnie offices.
The Organisation
Cornerstone Youth Services Inc. (CYS) are the lead agency for the headspace centres in Launceston and Devonport and the satellite centre in Burnie. We also provide a range of other services through our Youth In Mind programs to young people aged 12-25.
Responsibilities
- Provide timely day-to-day HR advice, support and consultancy to leadership and employees in workforce planning, job design, recruitment and staff induction, employee relations, performance management, remuneration, certifications, conflict resolution and staff exits.
- Drive the recruitment and selection process within CYS including but not limited to: position description development; appropriate paperwork and approvals; development of advertisements, assisting with candidate interviews as required and completing the credentialing process.
- Perform monthly workforce reporting in consultation with the CEO.
- Manage and monitor staff training and supervision requirements. Including delivering or organising the facilitation of any and all HR training for managers and staff where relevant.
- Provide advice, coaching, feedback and support to the CYS Leadership team to effectively manage the performance and development needs of the CYS workforce. This may include providing advice or attendance in performance management meetings with employees and/or paired with appropriate performance and development plans.
Skills & Experience
- Demonstrated experience in a generalist HR Advisor role (minimum of 5 years) with a sound knowledge of contemporary HR practices
- Coaching skills at both an organisational and individual level
- Demonstrated experience in the creation and application of policies and procedures
- A proactive, professional and customer-focused approach with the ability to influence and negotiate effective outcomes with a broad range of people from a variety of backgrounds and effectively contribute to a team environment
- A tertiary qualification in Human Resources; Business; Management or a related business discipline
- Experience working in a health and/or Not for Profit environment

Salary is based on experience and will be negotiated with the successful applicant.
