Job description

Are you looking for the next step in your career?

This is your opportunity to learn and develop your human resources experience, joining Cement Australia as a HR Advisor. Reporting to the HR Business Partner you’ll be based at our national head office in Darra.

Your role will be to support the HR Business Partner and dedicated business leaders to achieve great results for our people and our business. You’ll gain experience across the full breadth of HR services, policies and systems, including employee and industrial relations. Our business is surprisingly diverse (hint: read “About us” below!) and you’ll work with a mix of professional and operational staff with teams located across the East Coast of Australia.

The attitude and approach you bring is of just as much value as your experience. Your ability to build strong relationships and networks across our business and willingness to tackle whatever comes your way will set you up for success and help you develop new skills that will be invaluable for your career. With potential career growth into either more senior generalist HR or specialist roles, this is a great opportunity for someone who wants to be part of a talented HR team (if we do say so ourselves!) and make a difference to our organisation

About the role:

At a high level, some of the work you could expect to do as a HR Advisor includes:

  • Support leaders in performance and discipline matters, including terminations
  • Provide advice and interpretation of Enterprise Agreements and support the processes in preparation for a negotiation
  • Provide reporting and analytics support to the HRBP and line leaders on HR metrics and reporting queries
  • Prepare letters of offer and other employee documentation
  • Provide support and guidance for relevant training across your customer group
  • Assist in the annual performance management, talent, development, salary and bonus processes
  • Support the Talent team in recruitment activities where needed
  • Contribute to or lead improvement projects in related areas e.g. employee onboarding
About you:
  • You have previous experience in HR, ideally in supply chain or logistics and are degree qualified
  • You are known for your ability to build great relationships with people and you are motivated by providing a great service to the leaders you work with
  • You care about getting the details right and are able to manage competing priorities
  • Your nature is proactive, results driven and you enjoy a fast paced work environment
  • You love to learn, enjoy a challenge and are adaptable to change
  • You ideally have experience or exposure to managing employee relations issues and enterprise agreements
Why work for Cement Australia?
  • Engaged, collaborative and fun team
  • Opportunity to learn from an experienced team of HR professionals from a range of disciplines
  • Be supported in your career growth and development
  • Benefits that include novated leasing, product discounts, EAP program and parental leave
  • Open for discussion around flexible work options
