Working with the Corporate Services Manager, you will provide high-quality support and coordination in delivering recruitment functions and HR services for all staff. You will also ensure the successful onboarding of all employees, including induction and ongoing personnel file management.
As the Human Resource Officer, you will work collaboratively as part of a team and play an integral role in our workforce’s success and achieving our vision, mission, and strategic direction.
Primary Objectives
1. Support the Corporate Services Manager in efficiently delivering compliant HR functions within PALS.
2. Drive the recruitment and selection process for vacant positions across PALS, including position description development, drafting vacancy advertisements, and posting advertisements on various job boards as required.
3. Provide assistance with shortlisting candidates, preparing for and arranging interviews as required, conducting references, and completing the PALS credentialing process.
4. Ensure onboarding compliance for all employees/volunteers/students is undertaken in a timely manner, including pre-employment checks.
5. Collate all recruitment paperwork and create new employee personnel electronic files into the HRIS.
6. Maintain ongoing accurate personnel records in relation to mandatory compliance checks and qualifications.
7. Support the development and management of HR documentation as required, including employment contracts, letters and variations.
8. Support the reputation of PALS as a preferred provider by contributing to high-quality service delivery and by operating in line with PALS values and Code of Conduct.
9. Work in a safe manner, adhering to all occupational health and safety (OH&S) requirements and report all hazards and incidents through the organisation’s OH&S processes.
10. Comply with organisational policies and procedures and instruments of delegation.
11. Other duties as directed.
Qualifications and Checks
Mandatory:
- Qualification in Human Resources or working towards.
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Current Criminal Record Check (
- Working with Children’s Check
- Current Drivers Licence
- Evidence of COVID vaccination or medical contraindication/exemption certificate
Desirable:
- Experience in recruitment, including participation on an interview panel.
Key Selection Criteria
- Demonstrated experience in a Human Resources administration or recruitment role (minimum of 2 years) with a sound knowledge of contemporary HR practices.
- Demonstrated experience in writing and creating job advertisements, uploading to job boards and conducting reference checks.
- Sound skills in problem-solving with highly organised and excellent time management skills.
- Ability to maintain high accuracy and confidentiality concerning employee information.
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
- Highly developed communication skills and a demonstrated ability to form strong internal and external relationships.
- Model organisation’s values through own behaviour, demonstrating a commitment to PALS Inc’s values and positively contributing to workplace harmony and cooperative team behaviour.
- Demonstrated competence with common IT tools, including client management systems and Microsoft Office.
