About the role
We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated Registered Nurse Immunisers in Sydney to join our project team. You will have the opportunity to utilise your skills and experience and be part of the delivery of targeted vaccination services according to your scope of practice, and across various settings.
This exciting opportunity is ideally suitable for a positive, competent, Registered Nurse Immuniser with a can-do attitude who is motivated to provide an excellent standard of patient care. You will enjoy working closely with our support and administration teams, knowing you are making a significant impact on the preventative health and wellbeing of the population.
With demonstrated competence in nursing practice in accordance with the appropriate standards, you will have effective communication skills including, problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills. Within a multidisciplinary team you will prioritise workloads, you will be creative, innovative and flexible when approaching issues within a fast-paced healthcare setting.
Key responsibilities
- Administration of vaccines, in accordance with the National Standards set by the National Health & Medical Research Council and the relevant state Department of Health and the guidelines, and policies and procedures established by International SOS
- Maintain immunisation skills knowledge, CPR and Anaphylaxis training each year
- Maintain immunisation records, vaccine supplies and consumables
- To monitor cold chain and storage of vaccines and to report and manage any detected breach of cold chain
- Ensure that all necessary precautions are taken to avoid any incidents or wastage
- Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with legislative, industrial and organisational policy requirements and standards in the areas of Work Health and Safety
Required:
- Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Nurse immuniser qualifications and/or experience (relevant to state of practice)
- Good computer & mobile device skills
- Current CPR certificate and anaphylaxis training (or willingness to obtain)
- Current vaccination records including annual influenza
- Current National Police Check (or willingness to obtain)
- Working with children certificate (desirable)
- Full Driver License (desirable) and willingness to travel across various sites in Sydney
