About your next rewarding opportunity!
You’ll provide in-home respite care and support to clients living with dementia; promoting independence and improving their quality of life and supporting their families throughout their Dementia journey. Working with one to two clients per shift, with a range of afternoon, overnight and weekend shifts available, you will support with:
- Social support; including individualised in-home activities and meaningful community based recreational outings and social activities
- Personal care tasks, including assistance with showering, personal hygiene and meal preparation
- Domestic activities such as house cleaning and laundry assistance
- Transportation and assistance with shopping and appointments
- Providing care in accordance with their individualised Care Plan
- Genuine drive to care and support those vulnerable
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Basic skills with technology incl. smartphones, tablets, laptops etc
- Current Australian drivers licence and roadworthy vehicle as required
- Confidence to satisfy the relevant probity checks required by legislation or policies
- Yellow Card or willingness to obtain (cost covered by Blue Care)
- A Certificate III in Aged Care, Home and Community Care or Disability Support would be advantageous but is not a requirement
- Willingness to obtain Certificate III in Individual Support or IV in Aged Care - eligible candidates will be supported to access fully-subsidised / fee-free training.
