Located on Victoria's Mornington Peninsula, Woodleigh School is an independent, coeducational school comprising two Junior Campuses, Minimbah in Frankston South and Penbank in Moorooduc and a Senior Campus in Langwarrin South.

The Inclusion Coordinator is responsible for Support and Extension programs (ECC to year 6), coordinating, developing, implementing, reviewing and staffing. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Identification of students with special needs-support and extension
  • Identification of students’ needs and working with teachers to provide a differentiated program in response to these needs
  • Diagnostic Assessments and interpretation leading to recommendations for follow up testing and action plan i.e. modifications, accommodations, classroom support and referrals to specialists
  • Funding applications
  • Targeted Programs funding applications (Literacy and Numeracy)
  • Developing and reviewing Individual Education Plans
  • Coordinating PSGs and parent communication
  • Reporting (Extension and Support)
  • Liaising with specialists including Speech Therapist, OT, Educational Psychologist, provisional psychologist, Art Therapist, Special Ed teachers etc

Selection Criteria:

Essential:

  • A commitment to keeping up with current trends and best practice when supporting students with special needs; both extension and support.
  • Solution focused with strong interpersonal and organisational skills.
  • The ability to think flexibility to accommodate the individual needs of students, demonstrating a strong sense of empathy for the student and their support network i.e. parents, teachers and specialists.
  • An understanding of appropriate behaviours when engaging with children.
  • Relevant classroom teaching experience or experience working with children.
  • Professional practice that is strongly aligned with the expectations of The Woodleigh Teacher

Conditions of Employment

  • A VIT Registration is required for this position.
  • Qualification and First Aid Training confirmation is required for this position.
