- Full-time, continuing role (36.25 hours per week)
- HEWL 5: $72,059 - $81,732 per annum plus up to 17% superannuation (3.25% increase in July)
- Can be based at either the Townsville Bebegu Yumba campus, or Cairns Nguma-bada campus
- This is a designated position for Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
WHAT YOU WILL ACHIEVE IN THE ROLE
In this rewarding role, you will provide valuable library services to support students and staff, with a focus on supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students. Your contributions will enhance the library experience through high-quality support, fostering positive connections with communities and stakeholders, and promoting JCU’s Library Services. Your role extends to supporting cultural awareness among Library Services staff, encouraging involvement in culturally significant events, and contributing to information literacy training initiatives. Additionally, you’ll actively engage in projects that drive continuous improvement and contribute to a high-performance culture within the Library Services Directorate.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ROLE
To succeed, you should have a degree and/or relevant qualifications and experience. A deep understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, societies, and issues is essential, along with the ability to communicate effectively with these communities. You’ll bring experience in providing quality customer service and support, particularly in using information and learning technologies. You will have great communication and teamwork skills, and the ability to support learning and teaching activities and deliver relevant training. Additionally, experience in providing library information services will be well-regarded.
