Industrial Electricians – Sugar Manufacturing

About the Company:

Joining Sunshine Sugar’s maintenance team at one of their diverse manufacturing sites represents an excellent opportunity to expand and enhance your trade skills and experience.

Sunshine Sugar is the only 100% Australian-owned producer of certified sustainable raw and refined sugar products. Over 400 personnel are employed across three manufacturing sites which are all located along the NSW Far North Coast.

The position is based at their Broadwater Mill site which is located in close proximity to the coastal lifestyle communities of Ballina and Evans Head.

About the Role:

You will be a key member of the site’s maintenance team and undertake a wide range of duties:

• During the crushing season: the Mill operates on a continuous 24x7 basis and your primary focus will be on undertaking breakdown, running repair and preventative maintenance tasks associated with motors, variable speed drives, electrical infrastructure and componentry as well as a wide range of instrumentation and control systems.
• During the non-crushing season: the Mill does not operate, and you will be involved in the major annual plant overhaul and upgrade. This includes shredder, milling, clarification, evaporation, vacuum pan, centrifugal and materials handling plant and equipment as well as all associated electrical infrastructure.

Key Position Requirements:

• Relevant breakdown, maintenance and installation experience associated in the Electrical and/or Instrumentation fields for a heavy industrial or manufacturing operation
• Demonstrated skills with calibrating, installing and commissioning instrumentation which monitor pressure, temperature, PH, flow, level and conductivity parameters
• Effective troubleshooting and fault-finding skills
• Well-developed communication and teamwork skills, including the ability to liaise and work cooperatively with a wide range of people across the workplace.
• Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to site Workplace Health & Safety requirements and processes
• Relevant Trade qualifications

Desirable Position Requirements:

• Relevant experience with DCS, PLC and SCADA control systems
• Possess a NSW Qualified Supervisor Certificate (Electrical Work Licence) or equivalent
