The Information and Systems Support Officer supports and administers the University's enterprise research management information systems. Conducting routine maintenance and data imports as well developing and maintaining e-forms and supporting the system's online modules (including helpdesk) will be key elements of this interesting and varied role.
About the Person
To be successful in this role you will have demonstrated high level competence in working with databases and a variety of data sources (including SQL and Excel). A natural team player with excellent communication and analytical skills, you will relish the opportunity to use your highly organised approach to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines, establishing yourself as an integral part of the VU Research team.
Duties
- Support and administer QUEST, VU Elements and other University research management information systems, complying with ITS policies including interfaces between upstream and downstream systems.
- Undertake routine data integrity and quality checks for QUEST and VU Elements to identify sources of data errors and inconsistencies and advise internal and external stakeholders on options for corrective action.
- Prepare standard research performance reports from QUEST to meet user requirements and provide advice on data availability, interpretation and limitation, and options for data analysis and presentation.
