The role
As an Infrastructure Engineer – Middleware, you will be working with a team of infrastructure specialist and engineers to ensure services are integrated, delivered, and operated as required. You will be translating architectural designs into operations by collaborating with technical architects and being supported by third parties on infrastructure services.
How will I help?
A day in the role may look a bit like this;
Maintains the security, confidentiality, and integrity of information systems through compliance with relevant legislation and regulations. Designs, implements, and operates controls and management strategies to allow this.
Creates the specification and design of systems to meet defined business needs. Has the ability to work with business and technology stakeholders to translate business problems into technical designs. Able to visualise the ideal user service, come up with design ideas and possible design approaches. Explores different approaches to solving problems.
Supports, designs and implements infrastructure technologies and solutions such as: compute, storage, networking, physical infrastructure, software, database, middleware, commercial off the shelf (COTS) and open source packages and solutions, virtual and cloud including IaaS, PaaS and SaaS.
Plays a crucial role in business by ensuring all our Middleware products comply and maintain the required level of security, quality and standards.
Enabling the delivery of Middleware Technologies and Solutions by providing Technical Guidance based on QBE approved Strategies, Common Standards and Best Practices.
What do I need?
To be successful as an Infrastructure Engineer – Middleware you will have extensive experience within a similar position.
You will also have;
Strong written and verbal communication
Knowledge on equivalent Cloud Middleware and Load Balancer technologies
Strong knowledge and hands on experience in managing Load Balancers such as F5 and Citrix NetScaler, Web & Application servers ( IBM WAS ND, tomcat/tcserver, JBOSS, Weblogic) , Integration Technologies ( WMQ, ESB/IIB/ACE, Mulesofft, WebMethods) , Globalscape , Oracle COntent Sever (OCS/WCC)
Proven experience in Automation and Design/Architecture
