About the Role:
We are partnering with a prominent global consultancy on a significant government project and are in search of a dynamic and committed Environment Lead.
Key Responsibilities:
- Hands-On Leadership: Actively participate in and oversee practical tasks, guiding a team of Infrastructure Coordinators and Analysts to maintain seamless operations and consistent system uptime.
- Team Management: Provide daily leadership and mentorship to foster a collaborative and productive team environment.
- ITIL v4 Expertise: Utilize your ITIL v4 knowledge to maintain superior IT service management practices.
- Client Interaction: Engage in reviews, handle escalations, and manage critical events, incorporating feedback to enhance service delivery.
- Infrastructure Development: Collaborate with client and application teams to define, design, and implement infrastructures that meet user needs.
- Process Improvement: Assess current processes, tools, and technologies, offering recommendations for enhancements.
- Incident Management: Support the team in resolving critical incidents and participate in Change Advisory Board (CAB) meetings as needed.
- Scripting and Automation: Leverage your skills in scripting languages such as Terraform, Python, bash/shell, and PowerShell to automate and streamline processes.
- Cloud and Virtualization Expertise: Apply advanced knowledge of VMware, Azure, and AWS to optimize and manage infrastructure environments.
- System Administration: Manage and troubleshoot Windows and Linux operating systems, addressing L2 incidents for both on-premises and cloud-based systems.
- Database Management: Use your experience with Oracle and SQL databases to maintain critical infrastructure.
- SDLC Proficiency: Ensure best practices in infrastructure management through a solid understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
- NV1 Clearance (or have all the documentation ready to apply as a minimum)
- Australian Citizenship and minimum of 5 years living in Australia.
- Hands-on approach to technical leadership.
- Proven experience leading infrastructure teams to ensure operational excellence.
- In-depth understanding of ITIL v4.
- Proficiency in scripting with Terraform, Python, bash/shell, and PowerShell.
- Advanced experience with VMware and cloud technologies.
- Strong skills in Windows and Linux OS installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
- Practical experience with Oracle and SQL databases.
- Comprehensive understanding of the SDLC lifecycle.
