Innovation Coordinator National Acoustic Laboratories 2 year fixed term full time position Based in our Macquarie University – this role will allow you to work in multidisciplinary teams delivering valuable solutions in hearing healthcare About The National Acoustic Laboratories (NAL) NAL is a world leader in hearing research and evidence-based innovation to improve hearing health and transform the lives of people with hearing difficulties. NAL collaborates with organisations around the world to innovate on novel solutions to hearing health services and technology, conducts sophisticated validation trials on treatment benefit, and provides insight into the needs of people with hearing loss and clinicians who treat them. NAL’s research findings are published in leading peer-reviewed journals and its innovations are used worldwide. NAL is the research division of Hearing Australia. We are seeking a creative and confident Innovation Coordinator to join our NAL team. This role will support product teams to commercialise research into valuable products that will change the lives of people with hearing difficulties. The ideal candidate will have experience in similar roles and have a passion to innovate and drive change. About this role Now is an exciting time to join National Acoustic Laboratories with an expansion of the innovation team creating opportunities for aspirational innovators to make a real positive difference for people with hearing difficulties.This role will report to the Head of Strategy and Innovation, you’ll manage a portfolio of initiatives, collaborating with internal experts and a global list of partners to successfully deliver valuation innovative hearing solutions. You’ll bring your innovation skills and entrepreneurial mindset to lead teams through uncertainty, painting a clear vision of the future and then working backwards to start with the first steps. You’ll need to be familiar with innovation frameworks such as design thinking, lean start up and agile in the way you work and practise what you preach. The key responsibilities of the role include: Support and coordinate execution of endorsed initiatives through NAL’s innovation process, ensuring the documentation of key assumptions, validation and learnings Support implementation of leading practices around innovation trends, tools and frameworks that will develop NAL’s Innovation capability and delivery of initiatives Facilitate the use of innovation tools and contribute to the creation of new tools Planning and running events such as workshops, showcases, pitch events and conferences and partner with individuals and teams to champion the innovation process Manage key innovation ecosystem stakeholder engagement and seeking out potential collaborators Collaborate and work closely with other Innovation team members to maximise existing work and expertise; co-ordinate resourcing; share knowledge and experience in a timely manner Actively promote NAL activities via communication channels such as social media, newsletter and media release, in a way that is easy for the audience to access and understand The ideal candidate be a dynamic, proactive and energetic innovation expert and have:2 +years of experience in a similar role, including product design and managing the delivery of new productsProven track record of developing and implementing innovation programs and culture change initiatives in a corporate settingDegree qualified in a related field, such as Innovation, Entrepreneurship, Business Management, Change, and/or MarketingStrong knowledge of innovation methodologies, tools, and best practices, such as design thinking, lean or agile methodologiesExcellent interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to work in a team environmentExcellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.Exceptional attention to detail, takes initiative and accountability for results and successA strategic, growth and creative mindset that thrives under pressureStrong change management and problem-solving skillsAbility to balance technical, business and organisational perspectives We will require the successful candidate to be willing to have a Police Check conducted (we pay) and must have rights to work in Australia.
